We are excited to host the presentation of “Vòltati – Quasi un romanzo”, a novel by Nina Buffi, with the author herself in attendance. This special event will take place right after our AGM.

The presentation will be in English, while the book — written in Italian — is available for purchase on Amazon.it.

Join us for a chance to win a signed copy of the book!

After the presentation, we’ll unwind with a Pizza and Beer Night (with soft drinks also available), made possible thanks to the generous support of Officina della Birra – Bioggio.

We look forward to seeing you there!

Born and raised in Ticino, Nina Buffi combines a background in science and engineering with a deep passion for mental health advocacy. She earned her Master’s degree in Microengineering from EPFL (École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne, Switzerland) in 2009 and went on to complete her PhD in 2013. During her doctoral research, she developed a sensor for arsenic detection in water—a groundbreaking project that blended engineering and biology. Nina has built much of her professional career in the biotech industry. In Berlin, she worked at a company dedicated to automating and digitizing bioprocesses, where she held leadership roles as CTO and later CEO from 2019 to 2023. Most recently, she served as Head of Operations at a biotech company in London.

Her personal journey through psychological trauma profoundly influenced her decision to write Vòltati, a novel that highlights the importance of treating mental health with the same care and attention as physical health. Through her writing, Nina seeks to break down stigma and foster open, meaningful conversations about mental well-being.
