On Thursday 7th September 2023 we welcome the Unione Ticinese and speaker Peter Barber, who will give a presentation on the life and times of Carlo Gatti. This will be followed by a drinks reception. Doors open 1830, talk at 1930.
Carlo Gatti came to London from the Ticino, the part of Switzerland where Italian is the main language. Some years later his descendant Stefano Gatti helped to found the Unione Ticinese, which celebrates 150 years this year.
Peter Barber is the Unione’s historian and a leading authority on the life and times of Carlo Gatti. He will give a presentation, to be followed by a drinks reception in the museum.
