Valchera’s is an exciting new play commissioned to celebrate the 150th anniversary of the UT. Premiering at The Cockpit in Marylebone (NW8 8EH) from 30 October to 2 November 2024, the play brings to life in London a poignant and provocative story of emigration, courage, and friendship.
Picture 1900s London, on the cusp of war. At a lavish table in Valchera’s restaurant, two women sit in disheveled wedding gowns. Meet Iride, an emigrant from the depths of the Swiss Alps with a mysterious past, and Tina, a headstrong restaurateur born to Swiss-Italian parents. In the kitchen, we hear a man pleading from inside a lobster cage. The room is heavy with decisions, betrayals, and the looming threat of war. Will they let him live, or is the past too heavy to forgive?
Don’t miss this bold and thought-provoking production! Book your tickets today to experience a story that transcends time and borders. We have a whole theatre to fill! Do bring your friends, family and colleagues along!
